Just to let you know, this has sparked off a piece of writing which I emailed an online magazine about. They said they don't really publish fiction but the editor says she'll consider a 500 word excerpt for publication! Eeeep!! Need to polish it and keep fingers crossed.
Also, not posting it on my blog cos it's too long...
